Max

At the Fantagraphics blog, we have a preview of the Max comic "Bardin the Superrealist" with the following note:

Back in the second millennium, the estimable Drawn and Quarterly put out a mini-series and then book collection called THE EXTENDED DREAM OF MR. D., which more or less introduced American readers to the work of Max. (True, Max's riff on Peter Pan, PETER PANK, had previously appeared in HEAVY METAL, but had made much less of a splash.)

I'm having trouble with this. I knew of the great Max and his work before I read "The Extended Dream of Mr. D". Though, to be fair, I don't know where (aside from the 8 page adaptation from Greek mythology.) Hm... Where did I see him before that?
