Sugar and Spike

The latest issue (or the last issue, as the "latest issue" seems to have changed on the front page of the Comics Journal site) features an essay on Sheldon Mayer, who did one of my favourite comic books -- Sugar and Spike.



Little Lulu is probably technically better, but I'd rather read Sugar and Spike. The intelligentsia place Donald Duck ahead of Uncle Scrooge -- there, I must say, I'd rather read Uncle Scrooge. I'm likely biased toward a more wistful use of fantasy.
